FAQ's

Though each organization utilizing SupplierGATEWAY typically maintains an individual point of entry for their diversity system, you won’t need to complete a full registration application each time.  Instead, you will be able to complete a short form granting your prospective customers access to your to your supplier profile.

Your User ID and password must be entered exactly as they appear in the email.  If you are copying and pasting, you must ensure you aren’t copying extra spaces as incorrect characters or extra spaces will cause your login attempt to fail.

You must create a new password after the first time you log in.  Your password must meet the following criteria:

  1. Contain at least 8 characters
  2. Contain at least 1 uppercase letter
  3. Contain at least 1 lowercase letter
  4. Contain at least 1 number between 0-9
  5. Contain at least 1 of the following special characters {}[],.<>;:’”?/|\`~!@#$%^&*()_-+=

In order to change your password, you will be required to enter your current password.  Your current password is the one you used to log in.

You will need to register an account for yourself.  After 3 days, the System Administrator approves accounts that have not been approved by the primary contact which will generate an email containing your user ID and password.  You will need your organization’s tax ID and DUNS number to complete your registration.

Upon registering, your profile is available to buyers.  It is important that your information is complete and includes as much product/service and capability information as possible.  You are also able to upload brochures and product literature.  You are encouraged to keep your profile current so buyers have access to accurate information.

No. We keep your approved application and incorporate yours into the next selection period.

The previous model was more focused on training to tasks and specific research administration functions. Courses are now based on leadership feedback to help advance employees with skills that they can apply holistically to their work duties.

We will notify you after the application deadline for that cohort. We require time to process applications and determine the roster before we will contact you. Please allow for 10 business days at a minimum.

Deadlines are published in the Research Insider Newsletter or the Updates section in myRESEARCHpath. We also include application deadline information in the bimonthly Research Administration Town Halls.

No. You will remain in the program and be able to complete any outstanding classes and submit your Capstone Project Presentation during the next cycle.

It is important to commit to all the dates published for your cohort when you apply.

Missing a class means that you will need to remain in the program and attend the next offering in a future cycle and delay your ability to complete the program.

Yes. The program uses the Duke Learning Management platform Sakai.

It includes a calendar, announcements, access to Zoom URLs for class sessions, classroom materials, guidance on using Sakai, tracking tools to monitor your progress, information on how to use other technologies used in the program, and more.

You will be provided access to Sakai and given an introduction to it during the Orientation session.

There is no need to reapply unless you were ineligible for the program at the time of your application (e.g. insufficient years of experience, will not complete RAA by AGM start, supervisor declined to support the application).

Applications remain in our queue for consideration in future cohorts. Duplicate entries will be subject to deletion.

Both the employee and supervisor are sent a copy of the application by email after submission from Kuali Build.

You can also access your application and all other Kuali Build documents you've submitted by going to the My Documents tab in Kuali Build.

Earned Wage Access (EWA) is an optional program being offered to Duke employees to provide early access to a portion of their earned wages outside of their traditional biweekly or monthly pay cycle, if desired. Duke has partnered with industry leaders to offer this service through either the DailyPay or Wisely apps.

Duke understands that access to earned income is important to our employees, and may be particularly beneficial when employees encounter emergencies or incur unexpected expenses.  EWA provided Duke employees access to their pay before their regularly scheduled payday when needed.

EWA is available to all non-exempt (bi-weekly) employees and exempt(monthly) employees who earn less than $200,000 annually.

Once an employee is enrolled in either DailyPay or Wisely, the employee can take advances on earned wages that will be sent to the account designated during the enrollment process (such as a bank account or debit card). The payroll advance through EWA for the pay period will be deducted from net pay on the regularly scheduled payday. The remaining balance of net pay is deposited into the employee's designated account.

Listed below are three ways to get started, all of which begin with DailyPay:

  • Download the DailyPay App on iOS and Android mobile devices from the Apple® App Store or Google Play™ Store.
  • Visit DailyPay.com
  • Text START to 66867

Once enrolled in DailyPay to take advantage of Duke's earned wage access service, employees can also explore ADP's platform, Wisely, to see which of these two platforms best suits their needs.  When a user opens the DailyPay app they will be alerted to a free EWA option via Wisely.  They are then provided a referral code and directed to enroll via the myWisely app.

Both DailyPay and myWisely apps can be utilized to take advantage of Duke's EWA program; the chart below highlights the features of each. Employees are encouraged to decide which option best fits their needs.

Dailypay myWisely

No, employees cannot use both DailyPay and myWisely apps to access their earned wages simultaneously.  However, employees are encouraged to interact with both apps, explore the different features and advantages that each app presents, and discover which works best for their own personal use.

For non-exempt employees:

To ensure available balances are current, it is critical that all non-exempt Duke employees interested in utilizing the earned wage access program clock-in and clock-out using their badge at a Duke University or Duke Health clocking station or report their time on a daily basis in Duke@Work. On a daily basis, Duke will provide a report of an employee's earned wages for that day based on the hours reported via API or Duke@Work for that day.

All employees must focus on accurate timekeeping to ensure complete and accurate shifts get reported. Missing or inaccurate timekeeping will prevent hours from being recognized by DailyPay, denying them early access to their earned wages.

Employees' available balances are updated with the previous day's earned wages at 8 am on the following day (including weekends).

Yes, employees can cancel both apps without penalty based on the DailyPay and Wisely cancellation policies.

No, to be eligible to participate in the EWA program, employees must participate in direct deposit. Wisely provides an option for a free account for all Duke employees.

Yes, you do need a bank account, debit card or prepaid card to sign up for DailyPay.

This differs depending on what type of employee you are:

  • Bi-weekly employees will have their available balance updated and can take an advance up to the last day of the current pay period. The repayment for the advance will occur on the next pay date approximately two weeks later.
  • Monthly employees will have their available advance balance updated on a daily basis and can take an advance up to one day before the payday.

Yes, eligible employees who are on leave (and in good standing) can participate in Duke’s EWA service.

There are not daily, monthly, or annual costs associated with this service. Duke employees will only be charged for premium transfers when they elect to take advantage of DailyPay or Wisely’s instant transfer feature. Both DailyPay and Wisely have options for free standard transfers or a limited number of free instant transfers.

No, you will never incur a negative balance by engaging in the EWA service. Employees can only take up to 70% of their pay for each pay period, leaving a minimum of 30% left on their regularly scheduled paycheck.

No, your private information is only available to DailyPay, Wisely, and Duke. This information will not be sold or exchanged with any other entities.

Duke does not endorse any other available services on either DailyPay or Wisely apps, besides their Earned Wage Access service.

This is because you are trying to use a version of your email that is not associated with your Duke-issued Zoom account.

Please go to https://duke.zoom.us/profile and check what is listed under "Sign In Email" to identify your registered email address. The standard format used to create Zoom accounts at Duke is usually your NetID@duke.edu email address.

You can look up your Duke Directory entry by searching your name. It includes your Duke Unique ID and Net ID.

This usually occurs when you've shared your personal registration link with someone else. The link is single-use and if another person uses it before you do you're locked out. You need to work with the person who is using the link to have them leave the session and register on their own.

If you did not share the link with someone else, it is likely an issue with being logged in on multiple devices or Zoom apps (e.g. Zoom Outlook extension).

Follow this guide to sign out of all devices then log back in to join the session.
