Corporate Cash Management is responsible for the daily management of the University’s operating capital. In this role, this department oversees the banking relationships for Duke University and Duke University Health System. Corporate Cash Management also provides corporate oversight on Duke University’s foreign bank accounts.
Key Operations:
- Manage liquidity for Duke University, employing assets in the BNY Mellon Short Term investment account and available cash in bank accounts.
- Act as a central repository for all banking information – including signature authority, account services changes, and opening or closing bank accounts.
- Share expertise with Duke University and Duke University Health System departments on bank related services and processes.
- Process payments to foreign entities via wire transfer, based on Accounts Payable activity.
- Analyze and record activity for multiple investment pools and short-term assets.
- Manage all bank related inquiries, including resolving service issues, coordinating special requests for immediate payments, and serving as the liaison between banks and Duke staff.
- Serve as the primary resource for managing bank compliance for domestic and foreign bank accounts.
