Codes
- Maximum time allowed in the US for W-B & W-T visa waivers is 3 months; 6 months for J-1 Short Term Scholars; and no limits for B visaholders.
- Requires written approval from exchange visitor's sponsor, if the sponsor is other than Duke University.
- Students (J-1 Visaholders) may be employed by or receive payment from sponsoring institutions only.
All employment requires prior written approval from the sponsor. - Students (F-1 Visaholders) must obtain work authorization for all work off the home school campus.
- In order to issue payments, Duke University must be the visa sponsor.
- All combined on-campus employment is limited to 19.9 hours/week while school is in session and full-time during holidays and school vacations. Departments should contact Duke Visa Services regarding any exceptions.
