Certified TRaC Representative
In preparation for Concur, the new system that will be used to process expense reports, TRaC Representative classes and certification are temporarily suspended. Classes and certification focusing on processing expense in Concur will re-launch in later winter 2020. If you have questions, please email financial-training@duke.edu.
TRaC Representative Certification is designed for those individuals who are their department's TRaC Representative or the back-up TRaC Representative and who are interested in advancing their professional growth and development. Comprehensive training will teach specific skills and techniques, improve job performance, minimize mistakes, bolster compliance measures, and provide a credential recognized and respected within the Duke community.
Certified employees will exit the program with enhanced skills as outlined in detail in the Outcomes Outlines. Managers throughout Duke are encouraged to use their employee-participants in value-added roles by:- Delegating additional work and responsibilities to the participant
- Supporting employee growth and development from certification
- Seeking new hires who have completed certification
Program Requirements
To achieve the TRaC Representative certification, participants should allow 4-6 months to complete all course curriculums. The TRaC Representative curriculum requires sequencing of courses in two groups. The required courses/skills and groupings are as follows:
Group A:
(Courses in this group can be taken in any order, but all must be completed before beginning Group B courses.
Note: Online courses can be viewed prior to formally beginning the certification process.)
- Introduction to SAP – online course and quiz
- Introduction to Duke Accounting and Business Practices – classroom training and quiz*
- Introduction to General Ledger Accounts – TRaC Reps – online course and quiz
- Online Expense Reports – Video Series – Domestic Trip – online course
- Online Expense Reports – Video Series – Corporate Card Non-travel – online course
- Online Expense Reports – Video Series – Out of Pocket – online course
- Online Expense Reports – Video Series – International Trip – online course
- Online Expense Reports – Video Series –Additional Functions of the Tool –online course
- Online Expense Reports – Travel Portal Reporting – online course
- Online Expense Report Videos – Fundamentals Quiz
Group B:
(Group A courses must be completed prior to attending Group B courses. Course sequencing is enforced in Group B. Participants will be given access to register for the courses listed below when they are given access to the TRaC Rep Curriculum in the Duke’s Learning Management System.)
