S4 Reporting: Primary Areas of Change

The Upgrade is complete.  All systems are online and available to users. If you are experiencing a system issue, please submit a Service Now Ticket(link is external) and request that it be assigned to Financial Services-Admin Sys Mgmt.    

Consolidation, Functions, Look & Feel

• Any SAP GUI report that includes Common Budget (Plan) vs. Actual Performance data will have a different look and feel due to how the underlying tables are built in S4. Users will notice a top-down presentation of the GL account Hierarchy.
• New, more robust reporting function that allows Duke to consolidate many reports.
• Changes to Duke@Work Crystal Reports that impact various reporting functions used by department payroll representatives, HR managers, roles that manage non-compensatory payments, and other business unit roles that work in the Payroll/HR space. 

Please Note:  Duke will update the SAP Menu path - adding the new transactions and removing the retired transactions. Users should update their SAP Favorites.  Users may also find it helpful to display technical names along with the text descriptions on their SAP Easy Access Menu.

• S4 Plan Versus Actual Reports Crosswalk 
  Includes: SAP transaction code and description, report summary, and crosswalk to reports being replaced. Please note: SAP reports not referenced in the crosswalk are available in S4 and have not changed.  Users will need to update variants for all new reports.  
• Display Purchase Order History - SAP Transaction ME23N
  Please note: ME23N - Display Purchase Order will become the default display to view purchase order details for all reports that allow purchase order drill-down. 
• Cost Center by GL Account with Stat Rev - SAP Transaction Z72CC
  A report that provides cost center postings from the general ledger and the budget, allowing drill-down capabilities and hierarchical views. 
• Cost Center Plan Trend by GL Account by Period - SAP Transaction Z72CC_12
  A report that provides planning data by GL accounts for cost centers.  
• Cost Center with Stat Rev - SAP Transaction Z72CC_1Line
  A report that provides cost center aggregated values for cost center on one line with drill-down. 
• Profit Center Plan vs. Actual by GL Account - SAP Transaction Z73PC
  A report that provides profit center actual and plan values by GL account by fiscal period and includes a drill-down to the original transaction.

  A report that provides balances across all cost objects selected by a user. 
• Fund by GL Account Plan vs. Actual - SAP Transaction Z74FUND
  A report that provides fund balances by account group hierarchical structure and their component commitment items.  The report has drill-down capabilities.

  A report that provides fund aggregated values for funds on one line with drill-down.

  A report that provides planning data by GL accounts for cost centers. 
• Export the ALV Tree Control View of SAP Reports 
  Provides guidance for exporting the ALV Tree Control for various SAP reports. 

► Training

Duke will host instructor-led overview sessions focusing on highlights of the transition and a demonstration of the most commonly used reports. Sessions will be specific to Company 0010 and Duke Heath users. Anyone who works with the existing reports outlined in the crosswalk is encouraged to attend. Session recordings will be available for those who cannot attend.   Please note:  Individuals who have Duke research certifications – RAA, AGM, etc. – will receive 1.5 hours of CE for FY24 for attending one of these sessions.

Please note:  While Duke invites all departmental payroll representatives to attend, the impact is minimal for business units using API Time and Attendance.
