Connecting to SAP via Authentic Login

SAP utilizes the Kerberos single sign-on authentication process. This authentication allows a user to acquire authentication to the system once during a session. The users are then able to login to SAP multiple times without having to authenticate again.

How to Authenticate

  1. Double-click the Authentic Login (Windows) or Ticket Viewer (Mac) icon.

  2. Click on "Get Ticket" or "Add Identity" in the upper left of the window.
  3. Enter your NET ID followed by "@ACPUB.DUKE.EDU" - all capital letters. (Windows users will have this populate after they type "@".)

  4. Enter your NET ID password in the Password field. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive.
  5. Click the "OK" or "Continue"button to acquire your ticket.
  6. Tickets expire after 10 hours. Make sure you "Destroy Ticket" or "Remove Identity" if you are going to leave your workstation.
  7. You can close (or minimize) the Authentic Login utility after acquiring your ticket.

Using SAPlogon

  1. To use a production system, you must first authenticate to SAP via the Authentic Login, as described above.
  2. After authenticating, double-click the SAPlogon shortcut on the desktop

  3. Select an SAP system from the list in the SAPlogon utility.

  4. Double-click on the name of the system for which you want to login
  5. SAP will launch a connection to the selected production system.
