Guide to Adding a Calendar Request for PTO for a Holiday

Overview: Per DHUS policy, Health System staff must use accrued time from the Short-Term PTO Bank for recognized holidays. These PTO hours are not automatically loaded into API; therefore both exempt (monthly) and nonexempt (biweekly) employees must submit a calendar request using the PTOS pay code. Nonexempt employees who take the holiday, but fail to submit PTO hours will not receive pay for the holiday. Exempt employees who take the holiday, but fail to submit PTO hours do not have their PTO balances decremented appropriately which may result in an overpayment.
