Each supplier who accepts VISA is assigned a Merchant Category Code (MCC) by their merchant bank. The MCC system is used to categorize suppliers by the types of goods or services they provide. Works automatically assigns general ledger accounts (G/L accounts) to transactions conducted with suppliers having the following MCCs:
