Quick Badge Functionality for Time and Attendance

August 19, 2013

Administrative Systems Management (ASM) and API have been working to resolve sporadic problems with the Quick Badge Functionality in API Time and Attendance.   This problem causes the API system to time out when trying to save the quick badge entry resulting in the following message.

"The clocking could not be recorded. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the issue."

API and ASM are working to load quick badge entries that have not posted for the morning of 8/19/2013.    It is expected that this process will be complete by the end of business tomorrow - August 20, 2013. No action is required by you at this point.

Please note, the quick badge entries may not be visible in the employee’s Time Card until August 20, 2013.

With the pay period close approaching, and the potential that this same problem could occur at any time, we have determined it is best to disable the Quick Badge functionality.   Consequently, we will be removing the quick badge icon from the Time and Attendance menu after 8:00 pm today until further notice.  Please communicate this change to your employees.

  1. If you have access to a badge reader, please use it to record your time.
  2. If you don’t have access to a badge reader, use Time Call to record your time by calling 681-1011 or 1-888-838-5100.  You will use your Duke Unique ID without the leading zeroes as your log in.  Your PIN will remain the same.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we remedy this situation. If you have questions, please call Corporate Payroll Services at 684-2642.
