July Payroll Updates
As Corporate Payroll Services continues to seek ways to improve on customer service, changes to the faculty/staff check distribution will be made. Effective with the August 2016 faculty/staff check distribution, checks will no longer be available for pickup at our Broad Street location. All faculty/staff checks will be delivered to departments by Duke Postal Operations. All departments who were affected by this change have been notified, and applicable arrangements have been made for those to whom Duke Postal Operations does not deliver. Departments should expect to receive faculty/staff checks with the delivery of their mail for the day. By making this change, departments will no longer have to drive to our location just to pick up faculty/staff checks.
Mailing labels for all departments are generated based upon the Corporate Payroll Services departmental payroll representative listing. Please take a moment to review this listing to ensure your department mailing address is correct. If any changes are necessary, you will need to do so prior to August 8, 2016. At this time, please take the opportunity to encourage all employees in your department to sign up for direct deposit via the Duke@Work portal.
Effective August 1, 2016, customer service telephone hours for Corporate Payroll Services will be available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:15 pm daily. Office hours will continue to be 8:00am - 5:00pm.
As a reminder, direct deposit is required for all students receiving compensatory payments through the biweekly and monthly payrolls. Students should be enrolled in direct deposit at the time of hire. Please review the student direct deposit policy. At this time, please review all students with active payroll records. If a student is no longer working for your area, please process an iForm to terminate them records. An individual should not be allowed to remain in an active status if they are no longer working.
