Welcome to "Grant Management Community News"

Welcome to the first edition of this newsletter. With today's newsletter, Duke is launching a new way to help support the community of more than 1,200 staff who are responsible for managing the single largest source of revenue at Duke - sponsored program funding. 

"Grant Management Community News" will be distributed by email monthly to grant management staff, lab managers and department/center/institute business managers. It will include information about regulatory requirements, policies and procedures, business process and technology improvements, training opportunities, support resources and compliance-related deadlines.  Its primary focus will be on post award and financial compliance. A special feature of the newsletter will be to mark the news items you should discuss with your PI with the alert, Faculty Advisory.  

We know it can be challenging to manage the $800 million in research funding at Duke in a field that is highly regulated field and that is becoming increasingly complex. Because we have multiple offices at Duke responsible for different aspects of research administration, it can be difficult for you to find the information you need. This newsletter will help bring together information on post-award management and financial compliance. We'll also be working to improve our website.

The e-newsletter will be developed and distributed by the Office of Research Costing Compliance (RCC) and will be archived under the news section of the Research Compliance & Reporting website.  We want to provide you with easy access to resources and so let us know how we're doing.  Feedback can be sent to rcc-cert@duke.edu.
