RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION SPECIALIST (0705)
Provide support to customers by facilitating pre- and post-award processes for both the departments and the central areas. Perform basic reconciliation of assigned project budgets, prepare basic budget reports for review by PI and supervisors, prepare adjustments and corrections in assigned project budgets for further review and approval in order to meet project goals and federal requirements. May process invoices and provide Principal Investigator(s) with daily monitoring of grants and contracts to ensure expenses are being paid according to grants and contract(s) protocols.

RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR (2627)
Performs pre- and/or post-award activities for a central unit. Pre- award activities may include reviewing department proposals prior to submission and ensuring all applications meet University policy and Federal regulations. They may also include award review and set-up to facilitate appropriate long-term management. Post-award activities include facilitating the progress of the sponsored project by safeguarding project funds and assisting with non-financial compliance issues.

GRANTS AND CONTRACTS ADMINISTRATOR (2647)
Performs pre-award and/or post award activities for a unit (school, department, division, institute, or center). Pre-award activities include assisting departmental faculty/PI in the development, preparation, and submission of grant and contract proposals. Ensure all applications meet agency and university guidelines and published time tables and deadlines. Ensure proposals are entered and routed in a timely manner for further review. Post-award activities include detailed reconciliation of assigned project budgets, preparing complex budget reports, preparing adjustments and corrections in assigned project budgets for further review and approval in order to meet project goals and federal requirements.

This position is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of complex grants and contracts using knowledge of grant and contract management rules and regulations, technical expertise, and analytical skills.

RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION MANAGER (2628)
Performs/coordinates pre-award and/or post award activities for a central unit. Pre-award activities include reviewing department proposals prior to submission and ensuring all applications meet University policy and Federal regulations. Post-award activities include facilitating the progress of the sponsored project by safeguarding project funds. This position will likely provide team leader support and/or supervision to a small group of staff.

GRANTS AND CONTRACTS MANAGER (2648)
Coordinate and/or perform pre-award and/or post-award activities for a unit (school, department, division, institute, or center) that has a large, complex, and/or diverse portfolio of grants and contracts. Pre- award activities include broad duties in preparation and submission of grant and contract proposals. Ensures all applications meet agency and university guidelines and published time tables and deadlines. Ensures proposals are entered and routed in a timely manner for further review. Post-award activities include detailed reconciliation of assigned project budget, including determination of allocability and allowability of charges; preparing and analyzing budget reports, and developing budget projections; adjusting and correcting assigned project budgets to meet project goals and federal requirements, providing assistance and oversight to effort management of specified project portfolio.

This position is responsible for a specified highly complex grants and contracts portfolio using discretion and independent judgment to make decisions that impact the compliance and successful completion of grant and contract objectives. This position is expected to manage a mid- sized unit (school, department, division, institute, or center) with a well defined grant and contract portfolio. This position functions as a manager and/or facilitator of large projects, such as grants and contracts that span across multiple disciplines and faculty.

Manage central department of grants and contracts personnel dedicated to pre-award and/or post award activities.

SENIOR GRANTS AND CONTRACTS MANAGER (2649)
Manage a department of grants and contracts personnel dedicated to pre- award and/or post award activities for a large and diverse portfolio of grants and contracts. Oversees budget proposals and the monitoring of the resulting awards received for academic and research projects and programs. Interprets regulations and guidelines of multiple programs funding with complex and broad guidelines for spending. Develops, negotiates and maintains subcontracts under prime contract. May submit electronic proposals and assists with problems.

This position is expected to manage a large grants and contracts unit (school, department, division, institute, or center with highly complex grants and contracts portfolios.
